Commercial Solutions Architect - Texas

As a Solutions Engineer (SE), you will help prospects understand the value that dbt Cloud can bring to their organization. You will lead technical discussions, uncover data challenges, and demonstrate how dbt Cloud meets needs through live demos and technical workshops. Internally, you will contribute to refining processes and act as the voice of the customer.

• Spend majority of time on pre-sales opportunities to understand customer use cases and identify value.
• Consult with potential customers to uncover data challenges and highlight how dbt Cloud alleviates pain points.
• Own demonstration of technical and business impact via tailored demos and expert guidance.
• Collaborate with Account Executives, building trust-based relationships and providing strategic input.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with technical stakeholders.
• Partner with internal teams, represent voice of customer in product discussions, and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
• Improve team processes, refine assets, and enable others through collaboration.
• Create and deliver external-facing content via live events, blog posts, recorded tutorials, or educational resources.

• 4+ years of experience as a data practitioner or consultant in data operations or analytics.
• Strong technical foundation with understanding of modern data warehousing architectures, modern data stack, and proficiency in SQL.
• Prior experience with dbt preferred; bonus for dbt certification.
• Experience working asynchronously as part of a partially remote, distributed team.
• High comfort presenting to diverse stakeholders or audiences, ideally externally.
• Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and think on your feet.
• Desire to be a strong team player.
• Openness to travel to events as needed.

• Basic Python competency and advanced SQL knowledge.
• Proven experience in a pre-sales tech role.
• Experience with traditional ETL tooling.

Pay Range: $140,000—$160,000 USD. OTE (On Target Earning): $175,000—$200,000 USD. Compensation includes salary, equity, and performance-based pay where applicable.
