Complex Claims Manager

Airbnb is seeking a Complex Claims Manager to join the AirCover team. In this role, you will safeguard the integrity of the AirCover platform by identifying, investigating, and managing risk and mitigation strategies for complex and large loss claims. You will manage partners, influence prioritization, drive accountability, and deliver improvements on claims impacting Airbnb. You will work with internal and external partners, including Trust, Safety, Legal, and third-party adjusters, to strengthen the platform.

• Engage in Large Loss Claim reviews with insurers on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Manage insurer claim handling, coverage issues, and material reserve changes.
• Craft Resolution Plans for Complex and Large Loss Claims, driving carriers and TPAs to resolution.
• Partner with Legal, GCM, Trust, Brokers, Insurers, Outside Counsel, and TPAs on complex claims resolution.
• Mentor L6 and L7 Host Damage Protection and Host Liability Protection Specialists.
• Manage claims impacting Airbnb financials and the Captive.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage risk and exposure.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Report at Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Business Reviews.

• 10+ years of Insurance Claims Coverage and Litigation experience with emphasis on liability and property.
• Strong Insurance Policy experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines, regions, and seniority levels.
• Strong negotiating skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to be on call and/or work weekends and evenings.
• BA/BS degree in business or technical field preferred.
• Knowledge of Casualty and Property Insurance Policies and Claims preferred.
• Knowledge of Legal and Claims complexities in North America, LATAM, and EMEA preferred.
• Understanding of Captive Insurance preferred.
• Understanding of FINC claims preferred.

Canada Annual Pay Range: $83,000—$98,000 CAD. This role may be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

This position is Canada - Remote Eligible. You must live in a province where Airbnb Canada, Inc. has a registered entity: Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.
