We are seeking an experienced Compliance, Employment & Litigation Counsel to join our Legal team. This role will focus on global compliance, employment counseling, and employment-related legal support across the United States and potentially internationally, as well as assisting with dispute and litigation matters.
What You'll Do
- Develop policies and procedures related to ethics, export control, sanctions, anti-corruption, and conflicts of interest.
- Conduct internal investigations and handle responses to compliance issues, business partner and government inquiries.
- Oversee compliance training and related programs.
- Advise the People Team and business partners on employment law matters across the employee lifecycle.
- Provide legal guidance on hiring, performance management, accommodations, leaves, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Support organizational changes, restructurings, and reductions in force.
- Draft and update employment-related agreements, policies, and procedures.
- Manage employment-related claims, administrative charges, arbitrations, and litigation.
- Support disputes involving commercial contracts, vendors, intellectual property, privacy, bankruptcy, and other legal issues.
- Conduct factual investigations, manage outside counsel, and develop discovery processes.
- Collaborate with all business teams and contribute to special projects.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law.
- 4-7 years of experience, including significant compliance, employment and/or litigation experience.
- Strong judgment and ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
- Problem-solving mentality and ability to make decisions.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work across time zones and travel as needed.
Preferred qualifications include prior in-house experience, experience supporting a high-growth technology or SaaS company, experience advising on employment matters outside the US, and experience handling commercial disputes, IP, privacy, or bankruptcy matters.
Compensation
Oakland Pay Range: $186,895—$224,283 USD.

This is a full-time hybrid position based in Denver, CO, and Oakland, CA, with two days in the office each week.
