The Infrastructure Data Science team is looking for a Data Scientist II to partner with engineering and cross-functional teams to make Pinterest's infrastructure more measurable, intelligible, and actionable.

Responsibilities

  • Define and improve infrastructure health, quality, and efficiency metrics.
  • Build dashboards and analytical frameworks for complex technical systems.
  • Strengthen data foundations by improving metric definitions and auditing data quality.
  • Design and analyze experiments to quantify infrastructure changes.
  • Translate ambiguous technical problems into clear analyses and recommendations.
  • Support high-priority investigations on performance, reliability, cost, and measurement quality.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Biostatistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong SQL and analytical programming skills.
  • Experience with production-ready data pipelines and measurement systems.
  • Solid foundation in experimentation and measurement.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous problems into clear analytical workstreams.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and prioritize in a dynamic environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $114,297–$235,319 USD. Eligible for equity. Benefits available per Pinterest's benefits page.
