Engineering Manager, AI

Lattice is a people success platform offering performance reviews, employee engagement surveys, real-time feedback, weekly check-ins, goal setting, and career planning. The Engineering team is building the AI Intelligence Quality (IQ) team to own the AI Platform that enables every AI team at Lattice to measure quality, detect regressions, run experiments, and continuously improve AI performance.

• Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team of AI and software engineers.
• Own execution and delivery of the AI Platform roadmap.
• Partner with Product, Applied AI, Data Science, and engineering leaders.
• Lead development of AI evaluation infrastructure, quality metrics, experimentation capabilities, observability, and developer tooling.
• Drive technical and organizational decisions for scalability, reliability, and adoption.
• Build cross-functional partnerships and influence engineering strategy.

• Experience leading and growing high-performing software engineering teams.
• Strong technical background in AI infrastructure, AI-powered products with LLMs and/or AI agents, distributed systems, or developer platforms.
• Highly technical leader contributing to architecture, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Experience building enterprise SaaS AI products with quality, trust, reliability, and scalability.
• Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong product and platform mindset.
• Leadership style grounded in curiosity, humility, ownership, and continuous learning.

• Experience building AI evaluation frameworks, experimentation platforms, or ML infrastructure.
• Knowledge of statistical experimentation, A/B model testing, offline evaluations, or model benchmarking.
• Familiarity with DPO, RLHF, model fine-tuning, or preference learning.
• Experience building internal platforms and services.

Estimated annual cash salary: $187,500 - $234,500. Eligible for incentive stock options.
