We are seeking a highly technical and experienced Engineering Manager for a business-critical engineering team. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone with deep understanding of collaborative document editing technologies and a passion for building scalable, high-performance software. You will oversee development and delivery of innovative features, ensure technical excellence, and mentor a team of talented engineers.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical guidance, ensuring best practices in software development, architecture, and design.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Drive development of new features and enhancements, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to align goals and deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Oversee code reviews, enforce coding standards, and advocate for clean, maintainable, testable code.
- Stay current with trends in collaborative editing, cloud infrastructure, and web development.
- Ensure stability and performance of the Docs platform, addressing technical debt and optimizing architecture.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Node.js, relational databases, and at least one modern frontend framework.
- Experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
- Proven track record of managing and scaling engineering teams.
- Strong ability to mentor and develop technical talent.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
Compensation: $200K – $250K USD per year (OTE).
