Tailscale is a fully remote company building software to securely interconnect people and devices. We are seeking a full-time Infrastructure Engineer to join our engineering team.

About the Role

You will support internal business units through shared engineering services, build tools and processes, work with stakeholders, and collaborate with product engineering to extract data for business decisions. Example deliverables include improving observability, CI/CD improvements, infrastructure as code changes, cross-functional infrastructure improvements, and automating upgrades for managed services and VMs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and document core software components.
  • Own running services by building for observability, participating in incident response, and fielding customer support escalations.
  • Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of system resources.

Qualifications

  • Experience with CI/CD, secrets management, infrastructure as code, and observability.
  • Experience with distributed systems.
  • Experience operating managed services in a cloud environment (preferably AWS).
  • Experience with Kubernetes in production is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with networks (IP addressing, routing).
  • Experience with Go is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and asynchronously, with excellent communication skills.

Compensation

US Pay Range: $181,000—$226,000 USD. Compensation includes base salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
