About the Team

The Licensing team enables Affirm's ability to operate and scale in regulated markets globally. The team manages Affirm's licensing portfolio, regulatory relationships, and licensing strategy across the U.S. and international markets while partnering closely with Legal, Compliance, Product, and business leaders to support growth and expansion. This role reports to the Director, Global Licensing and Regulatory Programs.

What You'll Do

  • Support new product & service launches related to state licensing and reporting including money transmission, servicing/collections, lending, international expansion, etc.
  • Work cross-functionally with legal, public affairs, compliance, finance, tax to meet regulatory licensing and reporting obligations.
  • Maintain the central repository for licensing and reporting obligations for new license types including workflows, regulatory guidance, etc.
  • Collaborate with Licensing team to interpret, prepare, and submit state licensing annual reports, MSB call reports, and other regulatory obligations.
  • Ensure timely regulatory filings, call out any licensing issues, supervise ongoing regulatory obligations in licensing management tool.
  • Lead ongoing preparation of renewal applications and other forms to be filed in various licensing jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate on NMLS licensing, reporting, and other regulatory filings.
  • Analyze and develop new processes, leveraging AI, to increase efficiency within the licensing program.
  • Assist Department in the research and build of licensing requirements into the licensing management tool.
  • Coordinate with senior leadership to fulfill ongoing state licensing requirements.
  • Partner with team on any licensing projects and initiatives.

What We Look For

  • 5 years of licensing/compliance/regulatory experience ideally related to consumer financial services.
  • Outstanding time management, administrative, and organizational skills, including the ability to balance multiple priorities and overlapping projects.
  • Proven project management, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Humility, integrity, and a desire to be part of a small but strong, supportive team.
  • Inquisitive, eager to learn, and a willingness to take ownership of projects.
  • Highly focused, able to make independent decisions and work with limited supervision while excelling in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities shift and ambiguity is part of the landscape.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Grade - L, Equity Grade - 6. Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents).

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $165,000 - $225,000. USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $146,000 - $206,000.

Additional Information

Affirm is proud to be a remote-first company. The majority of our roles are remote and you can work almost anywhere within the country of employment. Affirmers in proximal roles have the flexibility to work remotely, but will occasionally be required to work out of their assigned Affirm office. A limited number of roles remain office-based due to the nature of their job responsibilities.
