Manager, Commercial Counsel, GTM

We are seeking a Manager, Commercial Counsel, GTM to help lead our legal team, supporting our enterprise technology and startups Go-to-Market teams. You will handle enterprise agreements and customer negotiations, as well as team growth and scaling initiatives.

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, with a primary focus on GTM/Sales agreements with enterprise technology customers and startups.
• Partner closely with Sales and Go-to-Market leadership to support deal velocity and provide practical legal guidance.
• Help build and maintain commercial legal infrastructure, including contract templates, playbooks, and process improvements.
• Manage a team to support enterprise technology and startups segments.
• Identify and escalate legal risks appropriately while supporting business momentum.
• Stay current on legal developments affecting AI technologies.

• Law degree (JD, LLB, or equivalent) and meet local licensing requirements to work as in-house counsel.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, SaaS agreements, or technology transactions.
• Demonstrated people management experience, including hiring, developing, and leading attorneys or legal professionals.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate legal concepts for non-lawyer stakeholders.

• 8+ years of legal experience, with substantial time on commercial contracts, SaaS agreements, or technology transactions.
• Active membership in the California state bar.
• Experience leading legal teams through high-growth phases at technology companies.
• Experience navigating multi-stakeholder agreements involving technical and policy considerations.
• Curiosity about AI technology and AI policy, and a commitment to responsible AI development.
• A collaborative, low-ego approach and a 'doer' attitude.

Annual Salary: $320,000—$385,000 USD. Anthropic offers competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, and flexible working hours.
