Manager, Engineering, Dev AI

Airbnb is seeking a Manager, Engineering for the Dev AI team, which builds foundational AI tooling and infrastructure to enhance developer productivity across the software development lifecycle. The team serves as a platform team and internal AI consultancy, providing building blocks for domain-specific AI tools. In this role, you will shape and execute the technical direction of the team's infrastructure and products, working on agentic coding tools, asynchronous AI workflow platforms, SDKs for rapid internal AI app development, and AI-assisted code migration.

• Shape and drive the AI for Developers strategy, partnering with Staff and Sr. Staff engineers to align architecture trade-offs and product direction.
• Stay current on the evolving AI tooling landscape, balancing innovation with incremental, measurable developer impact.
• Serve as a champion, expert, coach, and consultant to empower teams and leaders to adopt new AI capabilities.
• Foster relationships with partner teams and stakeholders, crafting working agreements.
• Coach and mentor the team with empathy, contributing to the broader organization's culture and processes.

• 2+ years of experience as a full-time manager.
• Experience supporting and coaching Staff+ and Senior engineers.
• Experience managing a remote/distributed team.
• Prior experience building developer infrastructure, tooling, or platforms, ideally at scale.
• Experience applying AI technologies to real-world software development challenges.
• Track record of quickly ramping up in new domains, technologies, or languages.
• Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Base pay range: $212,000—$265,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

This position is US - Remote Eligible, with occasional work at an Airbnb office or offsites as agreed with your manager. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity; excluded states are listed on the careers page.
