Manager I, Engineering - APM Serverless

As the Engineering Manager for APM Serverless, you will define and deliver the end-to-end serverless APM experience, from auto-instrumentation through troubleshooting, ensuring OpenTelemetry and Datadog-native customers have a frictionless journey. You will lead efforts to expand coverage of cloud-managed services across providers.

• Lead a polyglot team of 8-9 engineers and partner with Product and Engineering teams to deliver serverless capabilities.
• Drive a technically rich domain: Lambda, Azure Functions, GCP, OTel billing, Rust, durable functions, distributed tracing across managed services.
• Partner with the product manager to shape strategy and execution for AWS, Azure, and GCP, and bring distributed tracing to new managed platforms.

• An experienced Engineering Manager with a track record of shipping products.
• Highly collaborative.
• Experienced in two or more languages and comfortable building cross-runtime systems.
• Passionate about libraries and OSS software development.
• Care about developer experience, clean APIs, and reliable systems.
• Able to pivot from high-level product narratives to technical implementation details.
• Comfortable with partner and stakeholder management.

The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role is $192,000—$240,000 USD.
