About the job

About the Role

Chime is hiring a Product Manager to join the Trust & Safety team, focusing on either Transaction Risk Decisioning or Member Identity & Lifecycle. This role sits at the intersection of customer experience, risk management, operations, and compliance, and involves defining product strategy, shipping impactful products, and iterating based on data.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive product strategy and roadmap within Trust & Safety, balancing customer experience, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.
  • Own ambiguous, high-impact problem spaces and make thoughtful tradeoffs across technology, operations, compliance, and business goals.
  • Partner deeply with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Data Science, Design, Operations, Risk, and Compliance.
  • Build and evolve systems that leverage data, experimentation, and where applicable, machine learning and AI.
  • Define clear metrics and success frameworks, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Redesign moments of friction—declines, restrictions, and closures—so they are understandable, targeted, and recoverable for legitimate members.
  • Influence cross-functional strategy and align stakeholders across diverse priorities.
  • Drive execution in mission-critical environments where reliability, security, and compliance are non-negotiable.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience as a Product Manager (leveling will vary based on experience and scope).
  • Depth in at least one of the domains: payments and transaction risk, or identity and account lifecycle.
  • Experience working on complex product problems involving risk, operations, platforms, or customer-facing systems.
  • Strong product judgment and ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strategic mindset with ability to translate vision into practical execution.
  • Proven ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience operating in systems with significant policy, operational, and data dependencies.
  • Strong analytical skills, using data to inform decisions.
  • Customer empathy, with sensitivity to how declines, restrictions, and closures affect member trust.
  • Comfort operating in fast-moving, high-stakes environments.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $142,000—$244,000 USD. Full-time employees may also be eligible for bonus(es), competitive equity, and benefits. Benefits include comprehensive health, financial, and wellbeing benefits, generous vacation policy, company-wide paid days off, annual wellness stipend, up to 22 weeks paid parental leave for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, family planning reimbursement, and more.

Location & Work Policy

This role is available in San Francisco, CA or Chicago, IL. Chime's in-office policy requires four days a week in the office and Fridays from home for those near one of our offices.
