Senior Backend Engineer - Databases - Loki Query

Grafana Labs is the company behind the open observability cloud, offering Grafana Cloud, a fully managed observability platform. The Databases team owns telemetry databases including Mimir for metrics, Loki for logs, Tempo for traces, and Pyroscope for profiles, all open-source projects also offered as cloud services.

As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Databases team, you will take an active role in influencing the roadmap, deliver new features, drive projects from ideation to operations, and contribute to open-source projects. You will design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, own reliability, performance, and availability, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with the team in a remote-first environment.

• Solid experience with at least one programming language (Go preferred; Python, C, C++, Rust or similar also acceptable)
• Some experience delivering projects from requirements to shipping in a self-driven way
• Some experience with cloud-based software or systems engineering
• Experience writing clean, robust, and performant software
• Bonus: Kubernetes/Docker, Grafana/Prometheus usage, microservices/distributed systems, on-call/SRE experience

In the UK, the base compensation range is £91,000 - £114,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset.
