Senior Backend Engineer - Databases - Loki Query

The Databases team owns the telemetry databases: Mimir for metrics, Loki for logs, Tempo for traces, and Pyroscope for profiles. These are OSS projects offered as a Cloud service and on-premise. They are multi-tenant distributed systems implemented in Go and running on Kubernetes across GCP, Azure, and AWS. The team also works on Prometheus, Grafana Agent, Mimir proxies, and OpenTelemetry.

• Solid experience with at least one programming language. We use Go, but familiarity with Python, C, C++, Rust or similar translates well.
• Some experience delivering projects from gathering requirements to shipping a product in a self-driven way.
• Some experience developing software that runs in the Cloud or systems engineering.
• Experience writing clean, robust, and performant software.

• Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker.
• Been a user of Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles.
• Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with on-call and operations/SRE tasks or infrastructure as code.

In the UK, the base compensation range is £91,000 - £114,000. Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable), and other benefits listed on the careers page. We operate a global annual leave policy of 30 days per annum, with 3 days reserved for Grafana Shutdown Days.
