Senior Consulting Engineer

MongoDB Professional Services (PS) works with customers across industries, from tier-1 banks to web startups, on a variety of use cases. This role solves technically sophisticated problems, gains cross-stack experience, and works with top-notch people. MongoDB PS supports customers' vision, accelerates time to value, and drives adoption scenarios from building new solutions to modernizing legacy applications or migrating to cloud.

This role is based remotely in Rome.

• Contribute to customer implementations across the application lifecycle: portfolio assessment, planning and design, deployment architectures, development, integration, testing, production operations, optimization, and best practices.
• Deliver customer classroom-based training to architect, developer, and operations roles.
• Work as part of a wider delivery team with consulting engineers, project managers, and account teams.
• Act as a trusted advisor to MongoDB and customers, influencing product roadmap.

• 10+ years of software development/consulting/support experience.
• Competence in at least one of: Java, C#, Python, Node.js (JavaScript), Ruby, Go.
• Experience with databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Linux diagnostics and tuning; Windows tuning is a plus.
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures, application development methodologies, and deployment/operations.
• Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• High motivation for a role combining deep technical and customer-management dimensions.
• Confidence speaking and presenting in a collaborative customer setting.
• Capable and comfortable with frequent travel for short trips to customer sites (up to 15%).
• Fluency in both Italian and English.

Base salary range for Italy: €77,000—€115,000 EUR.
