Senior Data Engineer

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, a platform that enables organizations to harness IoT data for actionable insights. We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data team, which includes Data Scientists, Analysts, and Engineers. This is a remote position open to candidates in the US. Relocation assistance will not be provided.

• Design and maintain data pipelines using SparkSQL and Pyspark within our central data lake.
• Build and maintain reliable computed tables from various sources, including unstructured data like video and audio, sensor data, and customer metadata.
• Access, manipulate, and integrate external datasets with internal data.
• Deliver high-quality data with strong uptime and reliability, including customer-facing datasets.
• Collaborate with Data Science & Analytics, AI/ML, and other Data Engineers.

• BA/MS in Computer Science, Statistics, or related discipline.
• 4+ years in a data engineering-focused role.
• Experience designing data models at scale.
• Proficiency in building ETL pipelines for large volumes of data.
• Experience with Spark-based data platforms.
• Strong command of at least one data orchestration tool (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, Prefect).
• Expertise in SQL, Python, and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with software engineering fundamentals and version control (Git/GitHub).

Annual base salary range: $119,595—$201,000 USD. Eligible for initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff and ongoing refresh opportunities.
