Senior Data Engineer II, Finance

Instacart is transforming the grocery industry, providing grocery delivery and household goods. They operate a Flex First work model, allowing employees to choose where they work.

As a Senior Data Engineer II on the Finance Data Engineering team, you will own critical data integration pipelines and models, working closely with accounting, billing, and revenue teams to support financial reporting and book close. You will shape systems from design to execution, mentor team members, and drive the Finance Data Strategy.

• Translate finance, accounting, billing, and revenue pain points into self-serve, reliable, scalable data solutions.
• Own critical data integration pipelines and models for accurate financial reporting.
• Mentor team members and champion engineering excellence.
• Drive organization-wide initiatives shaping the financial data vision.

• 8+ years in Data/Software Engineering with focus on data pipelines, specialized in financial data.
• Strong knowledge of cloud warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
• Expert in data modeling, SQL, and dbt.
• Experience with Python, Airflow, Spark, Iceberg, Delta Lake in production.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines for accounting/billing.
• Experience with data immutability, auditability, slowly changing dimensions.
• Excellent cross-functional communication.

Base pay ranges vary by location: CA, NY, CT, NJ: $220,000—$232,000; WA: $211,000—$222,500; OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $202,000—$213,000; All other states: $183,000—$193,000. Eligible for new hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.
