Senior Engineering Manager

Twilio is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead its Voice Media team. This role drives technical strategy for core media infrastructure powering Twilio's Voice services at global scale, building systems that process billions of media streams with high reliability and performance.

• Lead a team of senior engineers developing Twilio's next-generation media processing stack.
• Drive technical architecture decisions for low-latency, high-throughput media systems.
• Collaborate with product and platform teams to define technical roadmaps.
• Establish engineering excellence through code quality, testing, and operational reliability.
• Mentor engineers on complex media processing challenges.
• Own service performance metrics and reliability targets.

Required: 5+ years of engineering management experience leading distributed systems teams; understanding of Voice/VoIP infrastructure; strong technical background in backend services at scale; deep knowledge of systems design, microservices, and cloud infrastructure; experience with AI tools for developer velocity; excellent communication skills. Desired: experience with SIP, RTP/RTCP, media codecs, transcoding, low-latency distributed systems, Rust/Java/C/C++, Asterisk/gStreamer, Voice AI, AWS.

Remote based in Ontario or Alberta, Canada. Occasional travel for team meetings.

CAD 194,000 - CAD 242,500 with 17.5% target bonus.
