About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to serve as a key partner to Mixpanel’s Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) organizations. This person will own infrastructure cost, EPD opex, and headcount planning while building scalable systems to improve visibility and decision-making, as well as the analytical frameworks that guide how Mixpanel deploys capital and allocates resources across these areas.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Product investment envelope – Manage OpEx and headcount budgets across EPD.
  • Drive rigorous workforce planning across technical and corporate teams – Build bottoms-up headcount models by function and level.
  • Model infrastructure and internal systems economics – Develop clear forecasting models for cloud hosting, AI/compute, internal tooling, SaaS applications, and enterprise systems.
  • Translate roadmap and corporate priorities into financial tradeoffs – Evaluate build vs. buy decisions, capitalizable vs. expensed R&D, and vendor investments across EPD.
  • Elevate budget vs. actuals rigor across the organization – Lead monthly BvA reviews for EPD.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in FP&A or strategic finance at a high-growth technology company.
  • Proven partner to Engineering leaders – supported technical teams and corporate functions.
  • Fluency in infrastructure and SaaS cost drivers – understand cloud economics, AI/compute scaling, enterprise tooling.
  • Strong workforce planning – managed complex headcount models across multiple departments.
  • Advanced financial modeling – build scenario-driven models with clear assumptions and sensitivity analysis.
  • Strong analytical judgment and ability to identify key variables in large datasets.
  • Ability to operate independently through ambiguity.
  • Excellent executive communication skills.
  • High say/do ratio, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Hands-on experience with Pigment.

Compensation & Benefits

Total target cash compensation (TTCC) range: $191,000—$287,000 USD. Eligible for equity consideration and benefits including medical, vision, and dental insurance.
