About Render
Render is building a modern cloud platform for developers creating AI-native, full-stack, multi-service applications. The platform offers a developer-first experience with persistent compute, dynamic autoscaling, built-in orchestration, and observability, trusted by over 7 million developers. In February 2026, Render raised an additional $100M in Series C financing, bringing total funding to $260M.
About the Role
This is a craft-focused individual contributor role designing web UI for infrastructure. You will own surfaces developers depend on during high-stress situations, making multi-service systems legible, designing system-level observability, coordinating cross-service deployments, and considering all product states including failure. You'll contribute to a design-led discovery track with weekly critiques.
You Will
- Make a multi-service system legible at a glance.
- Design system-level observability with aggregated logs, metrics, deploys, and events.
- Design cross-service deployment and rollback, and a preview model.
- Design all product states, including build errors, failed deploys, and empty states.
- Own a first-run experience from signup to first successful deploy.
- Contribute to the platform's future through concept explorations and weekly critique.
We're Looking For
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Exceptional taste and craft with obsessive attention to detail.
- Strong information architecture skills.
- Fluent in developer language (services, CI/CD, deployments).
- Respect for failure states.
- Systems fluency in design systems.
- Strong product judgment under fast launch velocity.
- Clear, direct communication and collaborative working style.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience designing complex dashboards, monitoring tools, or console interfaces.
- On-call or production debugging experience.
- Excitement for CLI tools, SDKs, agentic workflows, and AI-assisted design.
- Design-engineering literacy.
