Senior Product Manager

Gusto's mission is to grow the small business economy by handling payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR for over 500,000 small businesses nationwide. Symmetry Software, part of Gusto, provides payroll infrastructure and tax APIs, powering paychecks for over 64 million workers each year.

We are looking for an experienced product manager to own the development of new business lines for payroll tax products. This 0 to 1 focused role has broad autonomy to lead discovery, strategy, and execution for new products in payroll tax, delivering durable business outcomes such as new revenue and existing revenue retention. You will work directly with a new product development engineering team and focus on AI-powered solutions.

• Lead long-term strategy, including research, customer and market positioning, and product direction.
• Focus the organization on the highest-leverage investments and decisions.
• Partner across Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, CX, Marketing, Sales, and Operations.
• Accelerate execution by stepping into the highest-priority gaps and creating clarity and momentum.

• 6+ years of hands-on product management experience, with 3+ years building 0 to 1 products.
• Proven track record of building 0 to 1 products in highly regulated categories.
• Experience building personalized products or optimized workflows using Gen AI/ML.
• Extraordinary cross-functional collaborator and leader.
• Ability to identify opportunities, build business cases, define product vision and strategy, and create a roadmap.
• Bonus points for experience with payroll / payroll tax.

Cash compensation is targeted at $143,160/yr to $178,950/yr in Scottsdale, $152,420 to $190,252 in Denver & most remote locations, and $184,420/yr to $230,525/yr for San Francisco & New York. All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs).

Hybrid roles in Denver, CO; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; and Scottsdale, AZ. Employees based in those locations are expected to work from the office approximately 2-3 days per week.
