The Security EDR Workflows team builds core capabilities that power the Elastic Defend management experience, including policy configuration, response actions, and OSquery forensics. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and build workflows and user-facing capabilities for the Elastic Defend agent, collaborating with security engineering, product, and design teams.

• Design and implement features that power Elastic Defend user interface capabilities.
• Build and evolve APIs for interacting with Elastic Defend data.
• Contribute to the architecture of Elastic Defend management and response actions framework, along with OSquery forensics capabilities.
• Develop scalable, high-performance systems within the Elastic ecosystem.
• Own reliability, observability, and operational health of features from design to production.
• Write production-grade code in TypeScript/Node.js (and potentially other languages).
• Collaborate with other engineering teams on cross-team efforts.
• Help improve engineering standards, tooling, and team processes driven by AI usage.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design decisions.
• Use AI to supercharge development work.

• Solid programming experience in TypeScript/Node.js and React.js.
• Ability to take ownership of problems end-to-end: from clarifying requirements and proposing designs to delivering, monitoring, and iterating in production.
• AI-powered development mindset.
• Initiative-taking mindset: ask the right questions, don't make assumptions, and look for ways to improve both product and engineering processes.
• Solid communication skills and ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical partners.
• Comfortable developing collaboratively, giving and receiving feedback on code and approaches, even asynchronously across timezones.

• Experience and interest in contributing to or developing open-source projects.
• Knowledge of the Elastic stack and solutions.
• Experience in cybersecurity and forensics.

The typical starting salary range for this role is $128,300—$203,000 CAD. This role is eligible for Elastic's stock program and a company-matched RRSP with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings. Additional benefits include health coverage, flexible locations and schedules, generous vacation days, up to $2000 match for financial donations and service, up to 40 hours of volunteer time, and a minimum of 16 weeks of parental leave.
