Senior Software Engineer

Reddit is a community of communities, built on shared interests, passion, and trust. It hosts 100,000+ active communities and approximately 130 million daily active unique visitors, making it one of the internet's largest sources of information.

The Home Experience team is responsible for the Feed pages on Reddit apps and website, one of the highest traffic pages on the platform. You will work with the immense scale of hundreds of millions of users to help them explore Reddit and provide excellent feeds.

• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering counterparts to build novel products and features.
• Contribute to standards that improve developer workflows, recommend best practices, and mentor engineers.
• Own the full development cycle for major projects: design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Write and review code and design docs, give feedback on product specs and mocks, and ensure successful delivery.
• Drive planning, development, and implementation across Reddit's backend service architecture for native mobile and web clients as part of a full stack team.
• Enable a culture of metrics-led execution, with a focus on operational excellence and system observability.
• Partner with leadership and cross-functional partners to develop the right roadmap.

• 6+ years of experience as a software engineer developing user-facing applications.
• Fluency working with product metrics, designing and analyzing experiments with tools like BigQuery, HEX, Firebase, etc.
• Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages; e.g., Python, Go, Swift, Kotlin, Rust, C#.
• Experience leveraging GenAI tools to increase software engineering productivity.
• Experience working with ML engineering teams and integrating ML solutions is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to break down and prioritize tasks.
• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong focus on user experience and usability.
• Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate in a fully remote environment.

Base salary range: $190,000—$267,000 USD. Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units, and possibly commission. U.S.-based employees receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, generous time off, and parental leave.
