Senior Software Engineer, Ads Creative Effectiveness

Reddit is a community of communities, built on shared interests, passion, and trust. The Ads Creative Effectiveness team aims to improve the impact of ad creative through generative and predictive products, adapting and finetuning LLMs/VLMs to help advertisers make impactful images, videos, text, and more.

We are searching for a Senior Software Engineer to help build the future of generative products for ad creative at Reddit, from contributing to best-in-class image, video, and copy generators to performance-guided generations and brand-safe editing pipelines at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Creative Engineering Architecture: Drive design and implementation of high-performance backends for ad creative generation.
• Advanced Editing & Asset Workflows: Lead development of end-to-end image and video editing engines.
• Scale Performance Feedback Systems: Architect infrastructure bridging ad performance (CTR, CVR) and the creative engine.
• Optimize Model Orchestration & Efficiency: Solve challenges around high-concurrency inference, latency optimization, and cost-efficient scaling.
• Robust Safety & Compliance Systems: Design and maintain middleware for content filtering and compliance.
• Cross-Functional Technical Leadership: Partner with Product, UX, and Ads ML leadership to define technical roadmap.
• Engineering Excellence: Raise the bar for code quality, system reliability, and documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• Expert Software Engineering & System Design: Extensive experience architecting and scaling distributed backend systems (e.g., Python, Go).
• Applied AI/ML Systems Engineering: Strong experience bridging ML models and production software, including model serving, data pipelines for LLMs/VLMs, and real-time generative workflows.
• Strategic Product Engineering: Deep understanding of technical decisions impacting business.
• Operational Excellence & Ownership: Startup mindset with senior-level discipline.
• Technical Leadership & Influence: Exceptional communication skills.

Pay Transparency: Base salary range for this position is $190,800—$267,100 USD. This job is eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units.
