Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Card)

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Card team, you will work across stacks, handling just-in-time transaction processing (millisecond-level) and post-transaction ledgering and reconciliation systems. You will own quarterly goals, lead engineers through ambiguity, and collaborate with product management, design, and analytics.

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on product development.
• Identify and solve project, process, technology, or business issues.
• Support operations and availability by creating metrics, escalating, and participating in on-call rotation.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership through code review and design standards.
• Develop talent by providing feedback and guidance.

• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience shipping front-end applications.
• Ability to define technical plans for significant features with elegant, simple, extensible designs.
• Proficiency in making significant changes in a large codebase safely.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Base pay range: €86,000 - €122,000 per year. Total compensation may include monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits including 100% subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents.
