Senior Software Engineer, Frontend (App Experience)

Affirm is a fintech company that provides transparent, predictable payment solutions, helping people pay over time with no hidden fees. The Marketplace and App Experience domain is central to Affirm's consumer strategy, driving the user journey across iOS, Android, and Web frontend surfaces.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Frontend (App Experience) team, you will be at the forefront of Affirm's frontend technical strategy, working with experts across mobile and web technologies. You will bring React and TypeScript expertise to collaborate with product engineering teams, coordinating and implementing product features from Figma or product requirements, migrating and modernizing web code, and building tools like codemods and AI agent skills.

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that consider risks and trade-offs.
• Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting on-call efforts.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards, and advocating through writing and tech talks.
• Help develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance.

• 4+ years of experience developing and architecting web applications using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience working across multiple teams and driving horizontal initiatives with demonstrated leadership.
• Experience delivering major features, system components, or deprecating existing functionality through technical and execution plans.
• Ability to write high-quality code that is easily understood and used by others.
• Experience defining technical plans for significant features with elegant, simple, and extensible designs.
• Proficient at making significant changes in a large codebase, with tools and practices for safe delivery.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for global collaboration.

Base pay range: $153,000 - $213,000 CAD per year. Total compensation may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental, and vision for you and your dependents. This remote role is open only to candidates residing in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan.
