About the Role
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly. We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Acquisition & Onboarding team within the Consumer org. This is a high-impact leadership role for an engineer who can set technical direction, drive architectural decisions, and elevate the quality and velocity of full stack development across mobile, web, and backend systems.
What You'll Do
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on product development.
- Ensure team operations and availability with monitoring, triage, playbooks, and on-call efforts.
- Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards.
- Help develop talent by providing feedback and guidance.
What We Look For
- Experience leading significant mobile initiatives (React Native or native), including architecture and cross-functional launches.
- Working across React Native and native boundaries (Swift/Kotlin), debugging platform-specific issues, and improving developer tooling, CI/CD, and release processes.
- Implementing experimentation, feature flagging, and analytics instrumentation in mobile applications.
- Shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
- Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.
- 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
Base pay range per year: $153,000 - $213,000 CAD. Total compensation may include monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.
