Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer, GenAI Platform

The Machine Learning Platform team owns the infrastructure powering recommendations, content discovery, and user/content quantification, impacting Growth, Ads, Feeds, and Core ML teams.

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you will define and lead the vision for Reddit's large-scale GenAI Platform, shaping strategy, architecture, and operating model. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining the LLM Gateway (unified API endpoints, rate/token limits, intelligent failover), driving RAG and agentic AI workflows, setting MLOps/LLMOps standards (CI/CD, testing, versioning, evaluation), and defining best practices for observability, monitoring, and governance.

Qualifications: 10+ years in ML Engineering, AI Platform Engineering, or Cloud AI Deployment; proven track record leading technical strategy and delivering AI platforms in production; deep experience with Kubernetes and orchestration; cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud Storage, Terraform); proficiency in Go, Python, and ML frameworks; strong communication and platform thinking.
