Senior Staff Operations Engineer, BizTech

The Global Operations team manages production services across Airbnb's corporate environment, delivering reliable operations through Observability, Incident Management, Core Operations, and AI-enabled automation.

As a Senior Staff Engineer in Operations, you will lead and mentor a high-performing team to scale AI-enabled operations and deliver AIOps solutions. You will own the AIOps vision, strategy, and roadmap, partner with the in-house Observability platform owner, and drive execution across teams. You will lead 1–3 year operations architecture planning, identify and eliminate recurring issues through automation, and lead development of testing and monitoring tooling. You will be accountable for quality and reliability, including postmortems and root-cause analysis.

Your expertise includes 15+ years across AIOps, data catalog architecture, product development, and/or Technical Operations infrastructure. Strong SDLC experience with infrastructure as code, configuration management, distributed version control, and CI/CD. Deep expertise in cloud (AWS and/or Google), with focus on AI/automation, data catalog architecture, workflows, and correlation. Proficient in Python or Go. Experience building API integrations and event-driven architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda/SQS).

This role is US - Remote Eligible, with occasional work at an Airbnb office or offsites as agreed. Must live in a state where Airbnb has a registered entity; excluded states apply.

Pay Range: $212,000—$265,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
