Software Engineer II, Backend (Collections)

The Collections team, as part of the Repayments area, is on a mission to build a robust platform that will maximize the recovery of delinquent users by sending the right message to the right people at the right time, while monitoring and detecting problems and ensuring high reliability of the engineering systems. Collaborating closely with product managers, backbook risk teams, and other engineering teams, you will effectively manage loans throughout the delinquency phase of their lifecycle and develop and implement recovery strategies.

• With the support of your team’s tech lead and manager, break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery of your work.
• Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics, participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that properly consider risks and trade-offs.
• Support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting “keep the lights on” & on-call efforts.
• Contribute to a sense of community on your team by engaging in growth and development activities such as participation in the interview process.

• 2.5+ years of experience as a software engineer, with experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems, proficient in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with building blocks of distributed systems and technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to take a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components, executing by writing clear, easily understood, well-tested, and extensible code.
• Comfortable navigating a large code base, debugging others' code, and providing feedback through code reviews.
• Demonstrated ownership of growth, proactively seeking feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.

Remote Poland. The majority of roles can be located anywhere in Poland.
