Software Engineer II (Money Movement & Card Ledger)

The Money Movement & Card Ledger team at Affirm is looking for a Software Engineer to help build tools and systems for money movement, bank data integration, and merchant data. Affirm Card is Affirm's newest financial product, combining a debit card with buy now pay later financing. The team works closely with experience, data science, product, and engineering teams to build scalable and extensible systems.

• Break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in phases, and collaborate for timely delivery.
• Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and participating in on-call efforts.
• Contribute to community by engaging in growth activities such as participating in the interview process.

• 2.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems; proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Ability to turn simple problems into solutions interacting with multiple software components, writing clear, well-tested, extensible code.
• Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging, and providing feedback through code reviews.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Base pay range for Canada: $133,000 - $183,000 per year. Total compensation may include monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental, and vision for you and your dependents. Employees may be eligible for equity rewards. Affirm is remote-first, with most roles done from anywhere within the country of employment. Some positions may require occasional in-person work. All new hires attend an in-person onboarding experience.
