Software Engineer II, Segment Optimization

The Segment Optimization team builds Attentive's audience-segmentation infrastructure, processing billions of events from over 100 million customers daily to enable near-real-time audience insights and AI-driven personalization. As a Software Engineer II, you will build and improve distributed data applications that power the segmentation platform, own well-scoped features end to end, and partner with senior engineers and cross-functional teammates.

• Build and improve systems that power audience segmentation for more than 100 million customers
• Own well-scoped features end to end across distributed data applications, from design through testing, deployment, and operation
• Partner with engineering, product, and design teammates to deliver high-quality software
• Develop a deep understanding of the services you own and how data flows through the platform
• Contribute to team and engineering-wide improvements, including process, infrastructure, and system enhancements
• Use AI tools to move quickly while focusing on system behavior, architecture, and design tradeoffs

• 2–4 years of experience as a Software Engineer with a foundation in backend services
• Experience developing with Java, Python, or Go and a strong understanding of object-oriented design, algorithms, and optimization
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases and how data modeling and access patterns affect performance
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical teammates
• Comfort working through ambiguity and turning business goals into deliverables

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $135,000 - $170,000 annually, plus equity and benefits. Attentive offers competitive perks and benefits from health and wellness to equity.
