About the job

About the Role

Docker is a developer tools company trusted by 20M+ monthly users. This role is on the platform team, building self-service infrastructure to support hundreds of engineers. The goal is to make provisioning new regions and application environments take hours, not days, by building multi-region networking, continuous deployment, and a self-service layer.

Responsibilities

  • Own significant platform components end-to-end, from design to production adoption.
  • Build self-service capabilities and platform APIs primarily in Go.
  • Apply delivery standards with Terraform, GitOps on Argo CD, and progressive rollout.
  • Strengthen multi-tenant EKS foundations: Envoy Gateway ingress, traffic routing, multi-region connectivity.
  • Improve SLOs, alerting, and incident follow-up on Grafana Cloud.
  • Contribute to AI-assisted operations for alert enrichment, runbook-assisted diagnosis, and onboarding assistants.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and improve on-call processes.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands-on software engineering in backend, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
  • Strong software engineering in Go or similar language.
  • Track record of building, shipping, and operating cloud services in production.
  • Deep expertise in at least one of Kubernetes, networking, cloud platforms, reliability engineering, or developer platforms.
  • Solid Linux and production-ops fundamentals.
  • Clear written and verbal communication in a remote environment.

Compensation & Equity

United States: $160,900 – $260,700 + equity.

Benefits

  • Remote-first by design – work from home, with offices in Seattle and Paris.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Generous PTO, quarterly Whaleness Days, and end-of-year break.
  • Home office support and technology stipend (US$100/month).
  • Annual learning & development stipend.
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave after six months.
  • Equity for all full-time employees.
  • Comprehensive benefits – medical, retirement, and paid holidays vary by country.
