About the job
About the role
Chime Engineering is growing rapidly as we scale to support the financial needs of our members. We are looking for driven engineers to join our Membership team, where you'll work across the full stack, building and evolving the features that deepen member engagement, drive retention, and deliver ongoing value through Chime's membership experience. You will own projects end-to-end, from shaping architecture and designing APIs to building polished front-end experiences and maintaining the ongoing health of the code.
In this role, you can expect to
- Design, develop, test, and scale features across backend services and front-end surfaces that power membership benefits, rewards, and engagement experiences
- Build and iterate on APIs and UI components that deliver a seamless, high-quality member experience in Chime's mobile app
- Partner with product, design, data science, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand member needs, define experiments, and ship solutions that move key membership metrics
- Apply a metrics-driven mindset to decision-making and prioritize efforts based on member and business impact
To thrive in this role, you have
- 2+ years developing software in a production environment at scale
- Proven experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies (e.g., React, React Native, or TypeScript-based frameworks)
- A product mindset with a strong bias toward experimentation, iteration, and measuring impact
- A collaborative spirit and strong communication skills, with experience working cross-functionally
- Experience working with transactional databases, caching systems, and API design
- Comfort working across the stack and an eagerness to learn new technologies
- Experience with experimentation frameworks and data-driven product development is a plus
