About the role

Lyft's Marketplace teams own rider pricing, driver earnings, incentives, and efficient matching. The Pricing team determines prices for all rideshare products and works with Product & Science to implement complex pricing requirements. As an owner of one of the most critical flows, you will work on latency-sensitive concurrency problems, large-scale distributed systems, and experimentation.

Responsibilities

  • Help define the roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs
  • Unblock, support, communicate, and obtain buy-in across teams
  • Lead projects from idea to positive execution
  • Write clear, scalable design documentation
  • Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
  • Utilize expertise in Python, Golang, AWS to deliver robust solutions
  • Participate in code reviews and share knowledge through tech talks and mentorship

Experience

  • BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of software engineering industry experience
  • Extensive experience in object-oriented programming, ideally in GoLang or Python
  • Experience in backend software development of large-scale distributed systems and concurrency
  • Experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Work arrangement

Hybrid: in-office at least 3 days per week, including Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.

Compensation

Base pay range for Toronto area: CAD $108,000 - CAD $135,000, not inclusive of equity, bonus, or benefits.
