About the job

Overview

As a Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA) – Data Engineering & Warehousing, you will guide strategic enterprise customers through cloud data engineering transformations. This customer-facing role supports Solutions Architects with hands-on production experience in large-scale data engineering and lakehouse architecture. Reporting to the Specialist Field Engineering Manager, you will serve as a deep domain expert. This position can be remote.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for building, scaling, and optimizing big data and data warehousing workloads.
  • Architect production-ready pipelines and demonstrate platform value through performance and load testing.
  • Build expertise in data lake architecture, streaming, automated ingestion, and data observability.
  • Support pre-sales engagements including POCs, workload sizing, and architecture designs.
  • Enable adoption through workshops, hackathons, and conference presentations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a technical role with deep expertise in data and software engineering, including Apache Spark, Kafka, batch ingestion, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with data-driven use cases, predictive analytics, or customer analytics platforms.
  • Experience migrating EDW workloads (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake, Synapse, EMR) across OLAP/OLTP systems; advanced query tuning, governance, and MPP debugging.
  • Telemetry, log ingestion, anomaly detection, and familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Elastic, Sentinel).
  • Deep understanding of lakehouse architectures (Delta Lake, data modeling, BI integration) across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Production-level programming in SQL and at least one of Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Preferred: pre-sales or post-sales technical consulting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Ability to hit training and delivery milestones within 6 months.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Compensation

Local Pay Range: $180,000—$247,500 USD. Actual compensation based on skills, experience, certifications, and location. Total package may include annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
