As a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) in the Public Sector, you will work with federal government customers to build and productionize solutions to their data & AI challenges using the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development. This role requires an active Secret or Top Secret clearance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering production-grade systems, reference architectures, custom applications, and data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
  • Guiding strategic customers on architecture and design, and bootstrapping customer projects.
  • Leading architecture and design decisions, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with customer needs.
  • Collaborating with technical teams, project managers, and customers to deliver technical components.
  • Contributing accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale impact.

Minimum qualifications include 6+ years in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering; fluency in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript; working knowledge of two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP); deep experience with Apache Spark; familiarity with CI/CD; working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs; and experience with production end-to-end data architectures.

Preferred qualifications include expertise in MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs, and Databricks Certification.

This role is hybrid and requires travel to customer locations 20-25% of the time. The pay range for Zone 2 is $182,000—$250,208 USD, with eligibility for annual performance bonus and equity.
