Sr. Staff Software Engineer - Managed Tables

Databricks is the Data and AI company, serving over 20,000 organizations worldwide. The ManagedTables team is responsible for Data Intelligence initiatives underpinning the Unity Catalog ManagedTables offering, including Predictive Optimization, Liquid Clustering, and control plane services.

As a Sr. Staff Software Engineer, you will design and implement next-generation systems for storage lifecycle, background optimizations, and efficient storage structures, and influence data format and catalog interface unification.

Responsibilities include solving real business needs at scale, delivering scalable architecture, low-level systems debugging, performance measurement, building architecture design, influencing product roadmap, introducing automation tools, preventing and investigating production issues, planning and leading technical projects, and mentoring engineers.

Qualifications: 15+ years industry experience building and supporting large-scale distributed systems; passion for database, storage, or distributed systems; experience working towards a multi-year vision; strong foundation in algorithms and data structures; BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.

Compensation: Local pay range $228,600—$314,250 USD, plus eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
