CoreWeave is The Essential Cloud for AI™, a specialized cloud provider delivering GPU compute for AI, VFX, and other compute-intensive workloads. The Data Engineering Team builds and operates foundational data infrastructure powering analytics, AI, and operational decision-making. We are seeking a Staff Data Engineer to define and drive the architecture of CoreWeave's enterprise data ecosystem, establishing modeling, semantic, governance, and platform standards. Responsibilities include defining company-wide strategy for data modeling, semantic layers, and reusable data products; setting architectural standards for the lakehouse; designing frameworks for data quality, lineage, observability, and access control; leading architecture of cross-domain data systems; establishing data contracts; resolving systemic performance issues; evaluating core data technologies; and mentoring senior engineers. Qualifications: 10+ years in data engineering, software engineering, distributed systems, or data architecture; experience setting technical direction; deep expertise in analytical modeling (dimensional, Data Vault, semantic); experience with lakehouse/streamhouse architectures (Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi, Paimon, Fluss); knowledge of distributed OLAP/query/processing systems (StarRocks, ClickHouse, Trino, Spark, Flink, Kafka); expert-level SQL and programming in Python, Scala, Java, or Rust; experience with governance capabilities; ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear direction. Preferred: experience with compliance programs (SOX, GDPR, MNPI, PII), event-driven architectures (Kafka, AutoMQ, Pulsar), Kubernetes, and high-growth cloud organizations. Compensation: base salary range $207,000-$275,000, plus discretionary bonus, equity awards, and comprehensive benefits.
