Staff Engineer

As a Staff Engineer, you will shape future-proof interfaces, brainstorm with cross-functional partners, lead large cross-functional projects, debug production issues, and improve engineering standards and AI tooling adoption.

• Shape future-proof interfaces that are easy to build against and meet client-facing team requirements.
• Brainstorm with Product Managers, Designers, Frontend Engineers, and other partners to build new features.
• Produce high-quality results by leading or contributing heavily to large cross-functional projects.
• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack; uplevel observability and reliability.
• Improve engineering standards and AI tooling adoption.

• 8+ years of experience building distributed systems or platform infrastructure for high-scale, data-intensive workloads.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java or similar object-oriented language.
• Familiarity with infrastructure tooling (Airflow, Kubernetes, Ray, Terraform), service frameworks (FastAPI, gRPC), and observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, Splunk).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), including Kubernetes clusters (GKE/EKS), serverless architectures, and managed services (Lambda, Cloud Run, ECS).
• Proven experience with distributed data infrastructure: message queues (Kafka, Kinesis), caching systems (Redis, Memcached), database optimization, and resilient architectures.
• Familiarity with SQL (Postgres) / NoSQL (MongoDB) and data warehouse modeling.
• Deep experience building LLM-powered and agentic systems beyond chat-based interfaces.

Base pay range: $185,000—$210,000 USD. Total compensation may include performance bonus, benefits, and other incentive compensation plans.
