Staff Software Engineer - Frontend

Datadog is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Frontend to join its Dev Eng department in New York City. As a Staff Engineer, you will be a technical leader operating at the forefront of technology, building solutions that take the company through at least the next five years of growth. You will act as an individual contributor delivering industry-leading systems in areas such as data visualization, virtual runtime profiling, and planet-scale streaming, while also providing technical breadth and communication skills to tackle design and architectural problems spanning the organization. You will participate in the staff engineering community and help improve company-wide standards around software and systems engineering.

• Design and deliver technology that will power the next generation of products.
• Coach and develop engineers at various levels, from new university graduates to senior engineers.
• Lead redesigns of significant parts of the Datadog product and website.
• Own core customer experiences, including the first-time user experience.

• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• 4+ years of technical leadership experience, including effective communication of complex concepts and coordinating across teams to ship critical products.
• Experience running a high volume of experimentation and iteration cycles (A/B testing).
• Strong UI/UX intuition, adept at working closely with product design and product management stakeholders.
• Led development of high-complexity, high-performance interactive browser applications, including architecture, interaction design, and optimization.
• Ability to bring best practices from across software engineering and adapt them to the frontend environment.
• Expertise with React.

The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role is $138,000—$305,000 USD. Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, which may include variable compensation.
