Staff Software Engineer, Frontend (App Experience)

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Frontend (App Experience) team, you will set technical strategy for our frontend surfaces, collaborate with product management, design, and analytics, and act as a force-multiplier for your team. You will take ownership of operations and availability, foster a culture of quality, and help develop talent on your team.

• Set technical strategy for our frontend surface on a year-long time scale.
• Collaborate across teams in the product development lifecycle.
• Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes.
• Ensure monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, testing, and alerting are in place.
• Set code review and design standards, and advocate for them through writing and tech talks.
• Provide feedback and guidance to develop talent on your team.

• 8+ years of experience developing and architecting web applications using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience driving horizontal initiatives with demonstrated leadership.
• Experience delivering major features or system components.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and understand large systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Base pay range: CAD $181,000 - $241,000 per year. Total compensation may include monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits including 100% subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents. Employees may also be eligible for equity rewards.

Remote Canada, open to candidates residing in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan.
