Technical Services Engineer

As part of the Support organization, you will directly interface with MongoDB's largest customers and their most difficult problems. You will become well-versed in core aspects of MongoDB, gain deeper expertise in specialized areas, combine technical rigor with customer empathy under pressure, advocate for customers' needs, and turn what you learn into learning for others through knowledge articles, presentations, mentoring, and ramping.

The ideal candidate will have experience in most of the following: strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting, supporting complex production systems, diagnostic ability across distributed systems or microservices, database administration concepts across RDBMS and/or NoSQL systems (MongoDB experience preferred), analyzing customer workloads, cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), networking fundamentals, security concepts, basic scripting or coding, and clear empathetic communication. Nice to have: MongoDB products (Atlas, Cloud Manager, Ops Manager, Compass, Kubernetes Operator/Controller), DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code, authentication systems (OIDC, Kerberos, Active Directory), observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana), large-scale database management, AI-related technologies (Vector Search), coding in Python, Go, Java, Ruby, C/C++, reproducing issues locally, backup/restore/DR, and threat modeling.

Base salary range for this role in the U.S. is $90,000—$176,000 USD.
