Underwriting Assistant, Health

Justworks is a cloud-based software platform that provides HR, payroll, benefits, and compliance support to businesses.

As a Health Insurance Underwriting Assistant, you will assist the underwriting team with file review and data reconciliation for prospective customers' insurance applications.

• Review applications and related documentation for acceptability according to underwriting guidelines.
• Ensure all required customer documentation is accurate and collected in a timely manner.
• Act as liaison with vendors and internal sales teams.
• Apply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, and create resolutions.
• Communicate with company underwriters and internal teams to provide status or additional assistance.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role; background in business, finance, or economics preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to learn on the fly and apply new information.
• Comfortable working with people and helping others solve problems.
• Flexible and open to changes in processes or teams.

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $26.44 to $31.25 per hour.
