The open question is adoption. Developers must integrate the API, and parents must opt in. If uptake is thin, the signal becomes ornamental—a checkbox for compliance theater rather than a functional gate. Google has the leverage to push it; whether the rest of the ecosystem cooperates will determine whether this becomes the de facto standard or just another quiet beta that fades into the background.
