AI Engineer, Ecosystem

Brex is the intelligent finance platform that enables companies to spend smarter and move faster in more than 200 markets. AI Engineering at Brex builds intelligent, autonomous systems directly into the platform, developing AI agents that take action on behalf of customers.

As an AI Engineer on the Ecosystem team, you'll be a technical owner for Brex's external AI ecosystem: the integrations, surfaces, and standards that allow customers to interact with Brex through third-party assistants and platforms. You'll design how Brex data and actions are safely exposed, how permissions and auditability work across boundaries, and how new capabilities are introduced over time.

Responsibilities include owning Brex's MCP Apps for OpenAI, Claude, Slack, and other embedders; defining technical, UX, and reliability standards; designing secure, auditable integration patterns; building production-grade integrations; partnering cross-functionally; and serving as the center of excellence for reusable AI capabilities.

Requirements include experience building and owning production software, demonstrated technical ownership for user-facing products, deep experience with identity, authentication, and secure data access (OAuth, RBAC), and proven ability to ship reliable integrations with external APIs.

Compensation: $171,000 - $240,000 USD. This role is based in Seattle, WA with a hybrid schedule (3 days/week in office: Mon, Wed, Thu).
