About the job
About the Role
Anthropic runs one of the largest and fastest-growing infrastructure fleets in the industry. The Capacity Engineering team owns the data, tooling, and systems for planning, measuring, and maximizing utilization of that fleet. This role sits in the Planning pillar, on the Demand Planning team, and works daily with research engineering, pretraining, inference, compute supply, finance, and external vendors.
Responsibilities
- Turn the Demand Planning forecast into per-tranche requirements (shape, interconnect, region, supporting resources, date) and represent them in sourcing negotiations and data center build reviews.
- Qualify tranches for deliverability before signature, ensuring they can land schedulable, healthy, and instrumented.
- Close the delivery loop by tracking forecast-versus-delivered variance and feeding it back to Demand Planning.
- Own the bring-up system of record, defining the contract-to-occupied state machine and running a portfolio of bring-ups in parallel.
- Drive readiness automation and publish metrics like time-to-occupied and paid-idle dollars with executive-level reporting.
Qualifications
- Significant experience delivering large-scale infrastructure (cloud regions, accelerator clusters, HPC systems, or bare-metal fleets) at multi-region scale or ≥10k accelerators.
- Technical range from cluster orchestration and node health to telemetry and planning tables.
- SQL and enough Python to answer your own questions and build reporting.
- A degree in a technical field or equivalent engineering track record.
Preferred: Reserved-capacity onboarding, demand-planning exposure, data center delivery, accelerator health, systems of record, and onboarding new hardware generations.
Compensation
Annual Salary: $320,000—$405,000 USD
