Applied AI Engineer, Enterprise Tech

Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to join the Applied AI team as a technical Product Engineer, serving as a trusted technical advisor to Digital Native Businesses adopting the Claude API into their core products. You will work closely with customer product and engineering teams, advising on architecture design decisions, developing evaluation frameworks, and guiding customers through LLM implementation patterns.

• Serve as a specialist technical advisor from discovery through deployment
• Partner with account executives and solutions architects to translate customer business requirements into technical solutions
• Influence technical architecture decisions and customer product strategy
• Lead hands-on technical workshops and code reviews with customer engineering teams
• Identify common design patterns and contribute insights back to Product and Engineering teams
• Create scalable public and internal assets documenting LLM prompting, evaling, agentic, and architecture techniques
• Maintain strong knowledge of the latest LLM capabilities and AI product development stacks
• Travel occasionally to customer sites for workshops and implementation support

• 4+ years of experience in technical roles such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Software Engineer, or Technical Product Manager
• Production experience with LLMs including advanced prompt engineering, agent development and frameworks, evaluation frameworks, transcript analysis, MCP, and deployment at scale
• Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python or TypeScript
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and collaborate across organizations
• Exceptional communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders

Annual salary: $200,000—$320,000 USD

Hybrid - San Francisco, CA, New York City, NY, or Seattle, WA, 3 days/week
