Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, automating how over $200B in annualized spend flows through 70,000+ companies. The Ops Engineering team builds internal tooling and infrastructure to empower operators, managing the Retool platform, building custom tooling on Zendesk, developing internal APIs, and creating operator-facing applications. The team is cross-functional, working with operations, customer support, and other stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Design and build full-stack internal applications and tools for operations teams.
- Develop robust backend services and APIs for internal tooling.
- Build integrations with third-party platforms like Retool and Zendesk.
- Leverage AI tooling to build intelligent automation and improve decision-making.
- Create data-driven features and analytics for actionable insights.
- Collaborate with operations stakeholders to gather requirements and iterate.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
- Participate in code reviews, mentor team members, and own features end-to-end.
- Participate in an On Call rotation.
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building production applications.
- Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or similar.
- Experience with full-stack frameworks like React, Next.js.
- Solid understanding of backend architecture, API design, and databases (PostgreSQL, Redis).
- Demonstrated aptitude for AI technologies, including LLMs.
- Experience building internal tools or working with non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong product sense and user empathy.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and DevOps.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional skills.
- Experience with Retool, Zendesk, or similar is a plus.
