Role Overview
The Catalog Operations Analyst II will drive end-to-end data quality and enrichment for health, nutrition, and meal-related attributes within the Health and Meals pillar. This role partners with Catalog Engineering, Data Science, Product, and ML teams, as well as external data providers and BPOs.
Responsibilities
- Own data quality outcomes for the Health and Meals pillar, defining accuracy and coverage goals for critical attributes.
- Design, test, and operationalize LLM pipelines, including prompt iterations, evaluation frameworks, and human-in-the-loop QA.
- Develop SQL analyses to monitor catalog health, identify root causes, and prioritize fixes.
- Establish and refine taxonomies, attribute definitions, and normalization standards; author SOPs and quality guidelines.
- Manage day-to-day execution with external vendors and data partners, setting SLAs and QA workflows.
- Partner with Product, DS, and XFN teams to scope experiments and translate insights into roadmaps.
Qualifications
Minimum
- 3+ years of experience in catalog/content operations, data operations, or data quality in e-commerce, marketplace, retail, or similar.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in SQL (joins, aggregations, window functions) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
- Familiarity with LLMs and prompt design for data extraction, classification, or attribute enrichment.
- Experience defining and managing data quality metrics (accuracy, precision, recall) and root cause analyses.
- Experience operationalizing workflows with external vendors/BPOs, including SOPs, SLAs, and QA processes.
Preferred
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex).
- Experience with data wrangling, QA automation, and scaling manual processes.
- Experience building dashboards in Looker, Tableau, or Mode.
- Background in ecommerce, grocery/CPG data, or technology/startups.
Compensation & Benefits
Base pay range for Canadian candidates: CAN$104,000—$109,500 CAD. Eligible for new hire equity grant and annual refresh grants. Instacart provides market-competitive compensation and benefits.
