Asana is a leading platform for human + AI collaboration. Our Legal team works collaboratively across functions to support our global sales organization. We are looking for a solutions-oriented team player to join our Commercial Legal team as a Commercial Counsel, reporting to the Global Head of Commercial Legal.
What you'll achieve
- Partner with sales teams and cross-functional stakeholders to support high-velocity deal cycles in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Japan.
- Draft, negotiate, and advise on outbound commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, DPAs, BAAs, Product-Specific Terms, and AI terms.
- Act as a trusted legal advisor, delivering timely guidance and driving transaction structures aligned with Asana's policies.
- Train sales teams on commercial issues and best practices.
- Develop scalable frameworks, legal playbooks, and standards to drive deal velocity.
- Stay current on emerging global laws and regulatory shifts.
About you
- J.D. from an accredited institution and active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
- 4+ years of experience practicing law, including significant in-house experience at a technology company supporting sales on complex, high-velocity outbound revenue transactions.
- Proven cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Finance, Revenue Accounting, Deal Desk, Privacy, Security, and Legal Operations.
- Excellent legal and business judgment, integrity, and emotional intelligence.
Compensation: The estimated base salary range is $202,000 - $229,000. Additional components may include equity, sales incentive pay, and benefits.
